Mark may is a bright musician, a guitar wizard, full of mastery wild energy that will sharply hit the heart of those of you who love hard-drivin’ blues Twelve effective bombshells are the songs included in this inspired intense cd Mark May sings in all tunes except I Ain’t Drunk, where bass player Dan Cooper does the singing part Mark also plays guitar, second guitar and slide, Dan Copper is on bass, Greg Grubbs is on drums and JZ is on guitar too Among the guest musicians a special mention to Dickey Betts who contributes with his guitar playing on three songs (really amazing on Blue Monday) Mark tastefully and skilfully combines an original rock-blues with complex melodic scales with an unbelievable command and speed ‘Doll Marker’ gives some latin influences too, in tunes like Congosta’s Blues and some other blues performed on minor keys In short, it is a well produced and recorded cd, with a great variety of styles but, at the same time, good balanced, honest and with an amazing feeling
