Great singer Maria Muldaur comes back to the recording market with a superb, wonderful, essential album, in the style of those vaudeville pioneers like Bessie Smith, Lucille Bogan, Alberta Hunter, Ma Rainey, Georgia White, Sippie Wallace and many others who were so popular in the twenties and thirties and left so beautiful songs as a legacy for future generations, recorded in those old records that fortunately have survived them This time our admired Maria Muldaur has rescued twelve songs that used to sing the incredible Blue Lu Barker They are old forgotten treasures now taken back by a so impressive singer like Maria Muldaur, as was Janis Joplin in her successful days and both contemporary in age and generation, as they were born in 1943 Since Maria Muldaur chose Blue Lu Barker song Don’t You Feel My Leg for his debut album in 1973, a song she has also included in this album, her attraction for that artist was growing on and she became a deep fan of both Blue Lu and her husband Danny Barker In year 2016 the organizers of Danny Barker Festival asked Muldaur to prepare a Blue Lu Barker tribute show and from that homage came the excellent idea of recording this superb album that should not be missing in any blues record collection for Muldaur’s huge vocal quality, the magnificent repertoire and the professional work of all the musicians involved
