Two excellent albums performed by our two most international and emblematic blues musicians (with permission of Javier Vargas) Both have gained respect, consideration and a high place into the Spanish and European blues circles and the true admiration of national and international blues lovers they really deserve Marcos Coll on harps and Adrian Costa on guitars and vocals ooze blues from their body and soul, thanks to the deep knowledge of the music they play, their fine instrumental technique, tasteful performing and passionate determination they always give to the genuine real blues they play Listeners will immediately become captivated by the hypnotic enthusiastic charisma of their music The first album includes both Galician artists backed by a good number of friends who know blues like the back of their hand, such as Malcom Scarpa, Ñaco Goñi, Javi Vacas, Antonio Alvarez ‘Pax’, Edu ‘Big Hands’, Tonky de la Peña or Juli el Lento among others The cd was recorded in Madrid on different sessions during year 2004 It gathers their own material together with some covers of Muddy Waters, Charles Brown, Leadbelly or Junior Wells as well The second one was recorded live from a Berlin music club and is a fantastic experience to listen and enjoy A small Spanish blues treasure that begins with a short introduction of singer Eb Davis and follows up with a bunch of great guest musicians, such as Guitar Crusher, Tino Gonzales and Roby Edwards on tenor sax in five songs The band musicians’ are Adrian Costa on guitars and vocals, Marcos Coll on harps, great blues piano player Christian Ranenberg, Kevin Duvernay on bass and Andre Werkmeister on drums You will find eleven excellent and personal versions of Big Bill Broonzy, Jimmy Whiterspoon, Clifton Chenier, George Smith, Little Walter or Nick Gravenites songs, plus a Costa & Coll own composition and a couple of traditional tracks with very original arrangements (pay attention to La Paloma version), which make a deluxe record that, together with the previous one, you should certainly not miss
