Another splendid Chicago blues cd, this time coming from The Mannish Boys, the second one they have recorded for Delta Groove Records The Mannish Boys are a bunch of excellent musicians who like a ‘blues superband’ have got together to record the cd They are Leon Blue on piano (Ike & Tina Turner, Albert Collins, Lowell Fulson, Albert King…), Paris Slim on guitar (Homesick James, Jimmy Dawkins…), Finis Tasby on vocals (for those of you who are not familiar with him, say he is one of the best white blues drummers or, at least, this is what have said artists like Kim Wilson, Hollywood Fats, T-Bone Walker, Jimmy Reed, Little Richard or Lightning’ Hopkins), Johnny Dyer on harp and vocals (no need to say anything), Kid Ramos on guitar (James Harman, The Fabulous Thunderbirds…), Tom Leavey on bass (Big Mama Thornton, Joe Turner, Otis Rush, Billy Boy Arnold…) and finally Delta Groove producer, Randy Chortkoff on harp and vocals A bright colourful cd that will completely satisfy all fifties classic orthodox Chicago blues lovers
