A new production of the excellent prolific Austrian label Wolf Records. This time with a new recording of singer and guitar player Magic Slim, one of Wolf Records favourite artists. Slim belongs to the intermediate generation of Chicago blues guitar players, heir of Magic Sam’s sound and one of the fundamental pillars of seventies and eighties blues. The cd gathers different recordings coming from 1992, 1994 and 1998. He is backed by Alan Kirk and Earl Howel on drums, as usual his brother Nick Holt is on bass and John Primer and Michael Dotson on guitars. Once again Magic Slim drives us to the real Chicago West Side sound that can be heard on bars and lounges of the Windy City, with a powerful expressive heavy-house-rockin’ sound. A record specially devoted to low-down blues most passionate fans.
