We follow on with another essential record This time it is a fantastic edition of singer and guitar player Magic Sam, who was one of the fundamental pillars in creating and developing Chicago West Side sound The cd was not published before been and now it has finally seen the light to delight and satisfy all fans and followers of this sixties great bluesman Magic Sam was a unique guitarist and song writer with an original conception to build up the genuine blues sound He was a musician advanced to his time, with a strength and expressiveness only few ones could reach The album was recorded live at the Avant Garde Coffeehouse in Milwaukee and includes sixteen magnificent songs that capture the real hot atmosphere only Magic Sam was able to create and bring to listeners The sound is more than good, where Sam’s voice and guitar is backed by Robert ‘Big Mojo’ Elem on bass and Bob Richey on drums The album was recorded on June 22nd 1968 and the repertoire goes from blues to soul with some funky touches As mentioned it is an essential album specially devoted to blues deep lovers
