Since I am aware about the career of this bluesman called Mac Arnold, I am more and more convinced he has had and still has a surprising trajectory, because Arnold is a man who has been touched by the hand of God He began his musical adventure as member of a South Carolina band, which from time to time included James Brown in the band, but his personal style and name were forged during the seventies in Chicago, where he performed and recorded with giants like Muddy Waters, Otis Spann, James Cotton, John Lee Hooker, Otis Redding and BB King, among others But coming back to this new album Vizztone has recently released, let me tell you Bob Margolin produced it and he also has participated as a musician, as well as other such great names like Kim Wilson and the late Willie ‘Big Eyes’ Smith Ten tracks, some of them classics like Got My Mojo Workin’, Big Boss Man or Sloppy Drunk, that sound lush, and rocky with the most authentic pure Chicago blues spirit in the most audible, recognizable superb form These are genuine orthodox recordings that no one should overlook
