Mac Arnold shows great strength, feeling and an enviable energy considering he is quite an old man. Arnold belongs to that generation of musicians who have been deeply influenced by the old Chicago blues school, in the path of Magic Sam and other similar musicians. He has bright powerful vocal qualities and all his songs give off a hot passionate atmosphere. Although his long musical career he has not received as much recognition as he deserves, he can feel proud to have shared stage with greatest bluesmen such as Muddy Waters, Paul Butterfield, Mike Bloomfield, Elmore James, Howlin’ Wolf or, the one and only, Big Mama Thorton. Besides, he has also recorded for John Lee Hooker and Otis Spann. This cd will burn your hands and your cd player because the living blues strength is evident in the ten songs included on this amazing splendid cd. It’s worth it.
