Born in the Algonquin Reservation in Kitigan Zibi, Quebec and now living in Ottawa, Lyle Odjick went from living in a small village with practically no live music or blues to brush shoulders with the best Canadian blues musicians, lead his own band and teach harmonica.

It all started when he did a gig with a band whose members he knew as a friend. After that show he felt he needed to travel to Ottawa to look for some musicians who wanted to form a group that, since that night, was the main idea he had on mind. A month later he had managed to have his own band he named The Northern Steam. They started playing Chicago classic blues versions to end into a more actual blues rock repertoire. With his band he has opened for artists like Colin James, Paul Reddick, Randy Bachman or MonkeyJunk, all them prestigious musicians of Canadian blues scene, besides performing in various Canadian festivals.

Now he presents his debut album that includes eight Lyle Odjick’s own compositions, plus two versions he deeply loves like “Leaving Trunk” coming from Sleepy John Estes but made popular by Taj Mahal, and “Rock This House” by Jimmy Rogers, where he cleverly combines actual blues with classic Chicago blues. Besides Lyle Odjick on vocals, harmonica and rhythm guitar, you will also find Ben Griggs on lead and rhythm guitar, Mike Turenne on bass, Fred Sebastian on drums and Sean McGee on keyboards, as well as a few guest musicians.
