Since few years ago, Luther Allison was a rather unknown musician in his country Not so in Europe, where he became popular at the beginning of the seventies, thanks to his regular tours and the splendid album Love Me Papa he recorded for Black & Blue label Underground was the first album of his musical career, he recorded in Chicago in 1958 when he was only eighteen years old for Wonderful Records and fortunately has now been reissued His son Bernard remembers how much he learned to play guitar when he was only eleven or twelve years old trying to put his guitar on his father’s songs It’s great the cd has now been reissued because you will enjoy Luther backed by a bunch of amazing musicians Bob Plunket on drums, one of the real finest and faultless ‘Chicago beat’ drummers –with permission of Fred Below and Odie Payne Jr, of course-, singer and guitar player Bobby Rush is on bass and final production too and Bobby King on rhythm guitar, complete a deluxe band In short, a totally necessary reissue, not only for his historical value but also for the enormous musical quality
