To remember and commemorate the 20th anniversary of the death of great singer and Chicago blues guitar player Luther Allison, German label Ruf Records led by Tom Ruf, has decided to pay him a tribute by publishing a fantastic box with seven vinyl LP’s or and four DVD’s And if this was not enough, they have also published the four DVD’s in CD format These boxes also include a 80 pages coffee table book with his extensive biography, profuse comments and illustrations The edition is limited with only 1500 boxes published In these DVD’s you will find a variety of performances, like the ones coming from 1997 (Live In Paradise and Zoo Bar), other one from a Germany show where Luther played together with his son Bernard, or one from 1987 recorded at an East Berlin gig Another jewel you will find is his terrific show at WC Handy Awards (now called Blues Music Awards and Keeping the Blues Alive) in 1996, organized by the Blues Foundation in Memphis If you are one Luther Allison’s deep fans or if you just like the blues, you must not miss this box, either in CD or LP format, because it is a real treasure and a valuable present for your eyes and ears
