Here comes Lucky Peterson’s new album where he returns back to the roots in some tracks such as I Believe I’ll Dust My Broom, Statesboro Blues coming from Blind Willie McTell or Death Do Not Have No Mercy writtten by Reverend Gary Davis The album was recorded at Catskill Studios in Woodstock and Lucky was backed by a bunch of first class musicians You will find Larry Campbell (Bob Dylan) at electric, acoustic, pedal steel guitars and mandolin, Scott Petito is on bass and mandolin (Rick Danko Band) and Gary Burke on drums (Joe Jackson Shania Twain) Of course Lucky is on vocals, piano and acoustic, electric and Resonator guitars This is a semi-acoustic album that differes from his previous works You Can Always Turn Around looks appealing and eclectic, as it also includes other songs written by Bill Callahan, Ray Lamontagne, Bobby Charles, Tom Waits, Curtis Mayfield Finally there is an hymn for human rights written by Billy Taylor and popularized by Nina Simone I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free
