Although The Blues Morning Singers’ new album only includes six songs, they are enough to let listeners realize this band faithfully moves with a remarkable good taste and enough knowledge along the most genuine and traditional electric blues, even if six songs taste like too little. Formed in Bilbao and led by guitar player and singer Mario Gómez, he and the rest of the band easily perform a genuine blues repertoire, showing that Mario together with Carlos Jover on harmonica and vocals, Fabián Acarregui on bass and Jorge Gómez on drums know how to print the necessary groove to make the band sound as teamed as it should be expected for a blues band. For the album they have also counted with the special collaboration of Alberto Trigueros on piano and keyboards and Javier Alzola on sax. Both musicians contribute to give the necessary bright color to round up a well-selected repertoire, helping to complete all the requested blues aspects. The six album songs will allow listeners to enjoy a sound journey with stops at different stations like Memphis, Chicago, New Orleans or even the West Coast, where one will find travelers like Booker T, Carey Bell or Sonny Boy Williamson among others. In short words, six songs to be savored, as the beat, the shuffle and the groove are cleverly mixed to create the peculiar sonority these musicians communicate every time they meet to play blues.
