One night while she was coming back from a gig, Liz Mandeville was wondering if it was worth to follow on playing or it was better to leave music Some minutes later she had a terrible car accident where she nearly died Doctors told her she could never play again and the only thing she could do was to stay at home Resting and thinking at home, she decided she could not abandon the fight, so she visited an acupuncture doctor who treated her with acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine, as well as recommending her long daily yoga sessions Surprisingly, four months later she was able do a show and sing for about an hour Her friend Betz Steichen started a fundraising campaign that pleasantly surprised Liz Mandeville, as donations were received from all over the world With that money, Liz was able to do a series of various recordings led by different musicians who, together with their bands, were willing to enthusiastically get involved in the project, such as Big Dez, Peter Struijk, Ilana Katz Katz, Dario Lombardo and Minoru Maruyama The result is this 13 songs album which has brought Liz Mandeville back to the front line of music scene, besides making her realize she still has a lot of things to give to the blues business This is a magnificent, convincing album, with a bunch of very well-chosen songs, where Liz sings as she has never done before, showing an extreme passion and strength, a lot of feeling and an amazing self-assurance both in her voice and developing her guitar skills
