A bright and carefully done selection of twenty-two songs, performed by one of the greatest amplified harmonica masters (together with Walter Horton and George Smith) in the blues history. Tone, creativity, coolness, an innovative technique, great sound… these were some of the qualities of ‘maestro’ Little Walter. His influence is still present in blues development and musicians like Jerry Portnoy, Paul Oscher or Kim Wilson have drunk and have become imbued of the riffs and phrasing of this harmonica monster that Little Walter was. The cd is divided in two very interesting sections. In the first one he leads his own band and, in the second one, Walter Marion Jacobs (his real name) backs other historical names such as John Brim, Floyd Jones, Memphis Minnie, Muddy Waters, Jimmy Rogers or Shoe Shine Johnny. An album with not a single bad track on it that deserves a main place in your blues record collection.
