A perfect cd for dancing, enjoy and listen to it again and again, specially if you are driving on a long road journey. Little Ray and his musicians do not want to bring anything new to the recording market. Their music is pure rock and roll and swamp bayou blues cleverly, tastefully and over all honestly played. Little Ray drives us to the old Louisiana blues sound recorded by Excello fifties and sixties musicians together with some Slip Harpo, Lightnin’ Slim, Whispering Slim influences. Nine of the eleven songs included on the cd are Little Ray Ybarra own compositions he performs with the backing support of some of the most representative blues musicians of that particular area, such as Paul Orta, Matt Farrell, Louis Reeves or Bob Palladino among others. In short, a traditional album I am listening again and again without getting tired.
