After her last Barcelona musical adventure, where she recorded for El Toro Records, backed by the local band The Lazy Jumpers, Little Rachel comes back with her new work, which includes a bunch of attractive varied songs, deeply rooted into traditional music and pure fifties rhythm & blues, and influences of Ruth Brown, Etta James Little Esther and, of course, what Johnny Otis Orchestra used to play in the middle of last century Gifted with and intense deep emotional voice, Rachel is backed by some able musicians with close similar musical tastes, who give an extreme swingin’ jive Good vintage sound and a bright horn section, piano, guitar and the rest of instruments included in the cd, that form an unpretentious but at the same time delightful and satisfactory album What more can you ask to this woman who strongly bursts into the scene of new female singers who are appearing into Afroamerican music scene of the new XXIst Century?
