Another splendid Henr Stone Music re-issue, a cd of singer and guitar player of genuine southern blues Little Milton It was originally published on LP in 1976 by Glades label Milton was one of the most important artists of Malaco label, where he recorded just a few time after its foundation by Tommy Couch, Wolf Stephenson and Stewart Madison, just when Stax was slopping down Malaco grew up quickly in the middle of the seventies and during the eighties was the star one in that particular style called ‘southern soul’ In Friend Of Mine, Little Milton brings us his warm magnetic vocal style, together with a restrained but at the same time, straight and melodic guitar phrasing in the path of BB King, and his personal voice which reminds us the best Bobby ‘Blue’ Bland A nice album of an artist who wrote that well known blues called The Blues is Alright good fans can now get back for their record collections Congratulations to HSM for a new contribution to the history of high quality afroamerican music published now on cd format
