Excellent live recorded dvd from Chicago Rosa’s Lounge, broadcasting Little Arthur Duncan, who stands out on a very high level with his voice and harmonica down home playing For those of you who are not familiar with Duncan’s music, only mention he is an inspired bandleader, singer and harmonica player still active in Chicago blues scene belonging to old traditional blues school His blues are completely inspired on deep south musical roots, specially on those genuine strong grooves and of course on those truly wonderful simple but at the same time passionate low-down songs Little Arthur Duncan follows the step of Snooky Pryor, Little McSimmons, Big Leon Brooks or Billy Boy Arnold, among other great musicians who migrated to Chicago many years ago The show included on the dvd gives us Little Arthur backed by a bunch of excellent musicians Illinois Slim and Rick Kreher on guitars, Michael Azzi on bass and Twist Turner on drums (in fact one of the most requested white musicians at Chicago blues clubs for his steady professional performing) You will also find singer Little Al Thomas as guest musician on I Got To Find My Baby Seventeen interesting songs with some classic ones like Mean Old Frisco, Little Red Rooster, Scratch My Back or Blues With a Feeling together with Little Arthur Duncan own ones like Leaving Mississippi, Bad Reputation, Blues I Got To Leave You or Trackmarks An interesting example of cool rocky raw and unsophisticated blues is what you will find in this honest joyful original show done by an inspired musician, who represents the most genuine traditional Chicago 50’s sound You should not miss it!!
