Lisa Mann is an impressive West Virginia singer and bass player, now settled in Portland, Oregon Two times winner of Blues Music Awards given by The Blues Foundation as best bass player, as well as receiving several other awards, Lisa has often been compared to Etta James, Bonnie Raitt or Koko Taylor She has recently released this EP with five songs, four own compositions and a cover of Sister Rosetta Tharpe’s song That’s All Although five songs are not enough to get an opinion, this time they are enough to discover her vocal and sound potential, as well as her rhythm qualities as bass player, with amazing melodic lines that show her tasteful bass playing and terrific vocal power Besides Lisa Mann on bass and vocals, you will also find Jason Thomas on guitar, Michael Ballash and Dave Melyan on drums and, as guest musicians, Louis Pain on organ in two courts and the backing vocals of Sonny Hess, Brian Foxworth, Larhonda Steele and Arietta Ward in one track This is a fantastic EP that has impressed me for the cool quality of the five songs
