Two musicians who, at first sight might seem they have few things in common, like Lil’ Jimmy Reed and Ben Levin, have established a good connection, arising a good chemistry among them, they now share with all listeners in an album with presents real and venerable downhome blues.

Aged eighty-five, Lil’ Jimmy Reed is one of the last living legends of Louisiana blues and especially swamp blues. After serving for twenty years in the U.S. military, Reed has now become a genuine singer, guitar and harmonica player and a reference for the new generations of young musicians who are willing to play old school blues.

On the other hand, Ben Levin is a twenty-three years old piano player coming from Cincinnati. He started to play piano at eleven, developing a career marked out by success, which have made him become one of the new values of piano blues. Levin has the beat, attack and style of fifties piano players like Johnny Johnson, Ray Charles, Professor Longhair, Otis Spann or Big Maceo.

Both musicians have perfectly matched and understood themselves to give us a repertoire that includes five versions and five own songs, that are a heartfelt tribute to the most traditional old-time blues.
