This album is a reissue of some old Sam ‘Lightnin’ Hopkins recordings that were published by Folkways in 1959 The original recording was done in Houston, Texas by Samuel B Charters, a blues lover and researcher Today, with a new remastering and digital sound, those old blues sound with a new power and strenght that makes them become more than an historical reissue Hopkins’ voice and guitar playing gave to those sessions the sweetest atmosphere but, at the same time, the deepest desperation and the whole emotional feeling those old great blues masters used to have on their daily lives
