To excel in the competitive blues scene there are required a set of qualities as to be a prolific songwriter, a guitar master, a convincing singer and, finally, to have skills enough to develop an own, original and varied repertoire where traditional blues, old school’ rhythm and blues, soul and some jazz ingredients can give an excellent taste to savoury musical dish All these good qualities are present in the music of Leonard Griffie’s new album, where he has been able to catch the interest of good music consumers And if this was not enough, Leonard is backed by a group of musician who give a colourful fine quality and a joyful atmosphere to each and every one of the fourteen album songs The band includes Michael Vannice on piano and organ, Gordon Greenley on saxes, Randy Scherer on trumpet, Doug McAlister on bass and Mark Stever on drums All together have given shape to a rich pleasant work, overwhelming with good music and vitality, which will surprise and convince those of you who still are not familiar with this convincing passionate musician
