Laurie McVay is a singer, harmonica and guitar player who feels passionate about blues and soul in equal parts Influenced by artists like Little Milton, Bobby Blue Bland, Fenton Robinson, Little Walter, Magic Sam or Nina Simone, now Laurie presents his second recording where you will find ten own compositions which express some of his concerns and feelings, plus two very personal versions of the songs Hoochie Coochie Man by Willie Dixon and So Strange, a dark Chicago blues song coming from LC McKinley This new album is more complete and mature than his previous one, where Laurie McVay is also efficiently backed by his regular band, The High Rollers, with Andy Charles on guitar, Stephen J Parkes on keyboards, Tim Hollis on bass, Graham Matthews on drums and Miranda Jokel on backing vocals All the songs included become a tribute to all those legendary pre-war and post-war bluesmen but also show the excellent vocal and instrumental skills of this more than interesting artist called Laurie McVay who is now living in the eastern part of the Isle of Wight
