From Louisville, Kentucky, Laurie Jane & the 45s introduce themselves with great enthusiasm and the purpose to bring back old Louisville blues, especially those who were quite popular in prohibition times, but giving them a personal distinctive stamp that makes them sound different and really surprising, thanks to the new air these excellent musicians put in their performing Instead trying to capture all the nuances of those vintage blues, Laurie and her band present them in a way that can be easily assimilated by a wide amount of people Laurie Jane’s stage presence and her clean crystal voice make it to be easily recognized thanks to her childish and velvety vocal tone, driving us to those times where female singers had an outstanding role The album includes twelve songs that cleverly combine 50’s urban blues, jazz, rockabilly and soul Besides Laurie Jane’s Duggins on vocals, the rest of the musicians that form The 45s are Cort Duggins on guitars and piano, Jason Embry on bass, Scott Dugdale on drums and Brian Boss Hogg on sax, besides two guest musicians as Screamin’ John Hawkins on guitar and Eric Snyder on trumpet
