Singer and guitar player now settled in Salamanca (Spain), Laurent Lavigne has got a good fat tone and a cool attractive fluent phrasing This is Laurent’s debut album and it includes nine covers of some of the musicians he most admires who, in some way and over the years, have deeply influenced his music and his particular tastes The songs Laurent and his band perform in this cd have been arranged in the key of blues, soul, rock, funk and reggae and are a small part of the repertoire he usually plays live Robert Johnson, Willie Brown, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, Elmore James, Wilson Pickett, Marvin Gaye, ZZ Top, Muddy Waters, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Bob Marley are some of the cross-references that enliven the music of Lavigne in all live shows and in this cd too Besides Laurent Lavigne, guitar, voice and bass on a couple of songs, you will also find Antoine Perrut bass, Oscar López bass, Paco Garcia and Paco Tejero drums, Chema Corvo and Pepe Onís on keyboards and Nico Wayne Toussaint harmonica in three songs An album with a collection of good selected tracks that point out the road and the starting career of a new guitar value called Laurent Lavigne
