Ruf Records has just published a new album by young singer and guitar player Laurence Jones, that represents a step forward in his non-stop and successful professional music career he started a few years ago For some years Laurence had been in touch with reputed producer Mike Vernon (now living in Spain) in order to collaborate on an album, but their complete full agendas had always blocked the project It was only when Vernon came to see an incendiary Laurence live show that he decided to clear his agenda and devote his time to young Laurence new album, as it was the right time to do it The album was recorded at Heatline Music Studios in Cambridge and the only advice Mike Vernon said to Jones before starting the recording sessions was not to worry about anything, only play to get the live feel of a crowded club and he would do the rest This is the reason why the album reflects all the feeling and overflowing energy Laurence communicates with his strong but, at the same time, well balanced power-blues, along a collection of ten faultless songs that have been included in this recording, where he is backed by Roger Inniss on bass, Phil Wilson on drums and percussion, Bob Fridzema on keyboards and Paul Jones on harmonica in some cuts
