Born in Dallas, Texas, Laura Tate began singing at the young age of nine, encouraged by her father, a good opera singer. However, it wasn’t until the day her father took the whole family to see a clarinetist Pete Fountain’s gig, when Laura decided she wanted to devote her life to music. A short time later, she moved to Los Angeles where she gradually got a name working on series and television shows.

Now Lara Tate has already got enough recognition from audiences and media, which enables her to sing the music she likes most and especially New Orleans styles.

This new album has been co-produced by guitar, bass player and composer Terry Wilson, who also plays in the recording, and gathers twelve songs of elegant and sophisticated southern soul, jazz, blues and some drops of roots music. Some of the selected songs come from artists like Allen Toussaint, The Neville Brothers, Mojo Monkeys, Percy Sledge or co-producer Terry Wilson himself, all of them with influences of bayous and Gulf Coast music. A wide group of musicians like Teresa James, Billy Watts, Paulie Cerra or Darrell Leonard, to mention a few of them, help to wrap and highlight Laura Tate’s delicate voice in an album full of subtle fantasies and careful details, developed with enormous care and much love.
