Singer Joyce Huston, known as Lady J, grew up in a musical environment. Her mother was one of the most famous Saint Louis blues, jazz and gospel singers and she was also a mentor of many other musicians in the area. Since her childhood Joyce danced in her mother’s shows and when she was a teenager, she became well known as a vocalist with Johnnie Johnson, who was Chuck Berry’s piano player in which the legendary song “Johnny B. Good” was written to honor him. She worked as a trumpeter with Albert “Blues Boy” King, sharing stage with Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Bo Diddley or Koko Taylor among many others. For more than twenty-five years Joyce has been living in Las Vegas, where she leads her own band, Lady J Huston & The Fireballs. Along her career, Lady J has received countless awards recognizing her intense work as singer, songwriter and producer.

Joyce now presents an ambitious recording with twelve songs, nine of them own compositions, which are a journey through the most powerful and sophisticated blues, soul, gospel and rhythm & blues, developed with impressive arrangements that communicate all the power and glamour of the great orchestras that can be found in Las Vegas most elegant stages and clubs.

For the album Joyce recruited more than thirty musicians, including four guitar players, three drummers, several bass players, other vocalists, keyboards, a horn section including herself on it and the Jazz Edge Orchestra formed by eighteen musicians, which gives an idea of the album magnitude, as well as the wide vision Lady J Huston always displays her musical and recording projects.
