Thanks to a chance encounter while playing on the street in May 2015, singer and guitar player Pablo Carrascal and harmonica player Cristóbal Oteros Pobas decided they could join forces and form a duo, to perform and bring back Mississippi old blues in acoustic format, selecting a repertoire based on blues songs coming from their most admired bluesmen like Robert Johnson, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Sonny Boy Williamson or Lonnie Johnson among other varied old representatives of the most genuine blues Under the name of La Pana Brothers, they have played in most Andalucia bars, clubs or venues and they have also participated in some of the festivals which take place in the south of Spain After recording an EP in year 2015, now they have published this album including fourteen blues where you will also find two guest musicians, Toni Travé on banjo, guitar and vocals in three songs and Fernando Beiztegui in vocals and percussion in two cuts Both musicians play with a remarkable good taste, delicacy, sensitivity and cleverness in each and every one of the album songs, where I personally would highlight Kansas City, That’s Alright or Goin’ Down South
