Besides running the label and recording studios Dusk Art Studios, Evan Newman is also keyboard player in Kirris Riviere & The Delta Du Bruit’s band, led by singer and actor Kirris Riviere. The group released a debut single in 2021 and since then on, they have consolidated themselves as a band which drinks in the sources of actual blues they develop in a totally honest way, without odd unnecessary ornaments, always communicating the feeling of fifties and sixties blues.

The band comes from Bristol, UK, where they have reached a good notoriety, especially for Kirris Riviere’s stage presence and singing. He is backed by Evan Newman on keyboards and percussion in one track, Alastair Toms on guitar and bass in one track, Bryan Jones on bass and Peter Warner on drums as well as percussion in one track. The have also counted with guest musicians Joe Wilkins and Jon Amor on guitars, sax player Andrew Neil Hayes and harmonica player Henry Slim, each one in a song.

This new album gathers twelve songs, eight of them co-written by Kirris Riviere and Evan Newman. The rest are covers of classic songs coming from Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon or Curtis Mayfield.

It is a pleasure to listen to a band that may not be well known to some listeners but that deserves to be taken into account, thanks to their approach to genuine real blues that reminds us those blues bands which could be tasted both in those southside Chicago dark clubs, as well as in many English bars and pubs.
