Son of a Baptist church minister, Kirk Fletcher began to play guitar when he was only eight years old, after carefully looking his older brother Walter who played in Sundays Services at his father’s church He also went to to see artists like Albert Collins, Bobby ‘Blue’ Bland and the Staple Singers, and finally Fletcher decided to passionately devote himself to play the blues from the deepest part of his heart His jump to the professional scene was thanks to Al Blake, Hollywood Fats Band singer and harmonica player, who introduced him to such luminaries as Junior Watson and Kim Wilson In this My Turn, Kirk explores different sounds and musical ways, with the blues as a starting point The result is really effective and successful cd, with ten songs where he gives free rein to his expressive, passionate and versatile music, where he clearly shows his wide knowledge and skills, not only as guitar player, but also as Afroamerican music expert and master Twelve priceless musicians back Fletcher with an extreme conviction and good taste The result is a serious high quality level work
