Unbelievable, fabulous, exciting, fantastic, magnificent…. These are a few adjectives that describe this impressive album by harmonica player and singer Kim Wilson, which collects some previously unreleased songs coming from two recording sessions, one in 2014 and the other one in 2020.

The album gathers twelve songs, four of them Wilson’s own compositions and the rest versions developed with an immense feeling like “Sweet Little Angel” coming from B.B. King, “Howlin’ For My Darlin'” by Chester Burnett, “Keep Our Business To Yourself” by Sonny Boy Williamson, “The Time Has Come” and “Kansas City” by Robert Nighthawk, “Easy Baby” by Samuel Maghett and “So Many Roads” by Otis Rush.

Kim displays all songs with endless passion and commitment, showing his amazing quality as a harmonica player. You only must listen to “Boogie in E” or “Gotta Have a Horse”, two impressive instrumentals, to realize his harp mastery. As a singer he gives the best of himself, getting an unquestionable credibility and genuineness. Not in vain has he received countless awards and recognitions that make him one of the best actual harmonica players.

Kim is backed by three great musicians who, unfortunately, have passed away, like Barrelhouse Chuck on piano, Larry Taylor on bass and Richard Innes on drums. He has also counted with very special collaborations like Nathan James, Billy Flynn and Jon Atkinson on guitars, Bob Welsh on piano and guitar, Marty Dodson on drums, Malachi Johnson on drums in one track, Troy Sandow on bass and Johnny Viau on horns in two tracks.

According to Kim’s own words, all the album songs are very special to him because, besides playing with excellent musicians, they capture the real vintage blues sound, so he aims fans will enjoy the album as much as he has enjoyed doing this project.

A success of MC Records with Mark Carpentieri at the front, to release an album you won’t be able to stop listening over and over again.
