Here comes another amazing Kim Wilson’s album As usual, he makes us enjoy with his splendid singing and his unbelievable harmonica playing Kim faithfully keeps his musical style, that is to say, classical blues concepts and forms not only in his performing but also in all the arrangements he does A traditional repertoire where you will find such lovely songs like Wlillie Dixon’s Love My Baby, Dave Bartholomew’s Hook Line and Sinker, Jimmy Rogers’ ‘’Money Marble and Chalk or Snooky Pryor’s Tried To Ruin Me, combined with Kim’s own compositions which show his abilities as a song writer A bunch of Chicago, West Coast, Memphis, New Orleans or Kansas City blues, performed on Wilson’s original and personal way He has had the additional support of a horn section in some tunes, with Doug James on tenor sax, ‘Sax’ Gordon Beadle on bass sax and Scott Aruda on trumpet You will also find Try Gonyea on guitar, Mark Stevens on keyboards, Jon Ross on bass and the terrific Richard Innes on drums In my opinion he is the best actual blues drummer, he plays shuffles as nobody does with a dynamic jumping creative style and an impressive Chicago beat with powerful syncopations that reinforce the laps between musical phrases An absolutely necessary cd for all harmonica and fifties traditional blues lovers
