Kelly’s Lot is a versatile group which comfortably moves along the winding roads of Americana, blues, folk or roots rock. They are able to perform in a duo format or on band, which includes from five to eight musicians. Led by singer Kelly Zirbes and guitar player Perry Robertson, both musicians now present a new acoustic album where they have decided to perform a repertoire completely focused on blues, with six original songs signed by Zirbes and Robertson and five blues covers coming from artists like Howlin’ Wolf (two tracks), Ma Rainey, Robert Johnson and Lovie Austin. Both Kelly Zirbes and Perry Robertson give each selected song the necessary doses of lyricism and poetry to make them ooze credibility, a subtle elegance and the real blues spirit that must always prevail when musicians perform this kind of music. To round up this interesting proposal, they have also counted with Doug Pettibone on guitar and David Grover on bass.
