Dave Ray and Katy Hobgood met in 2001 in Louisiana where they both came from The two performed roots music (folk, rock and country) In 2003 the couple moved to New Orleans where they live and regularly work in clubs and bars of Crescent City They are also members of Friends Of Leadbelly association, devoted to promote the legacy of legendary Louisiana singer and songwriter Huddie Ledbetter Today the couple moves between Memphis and New Orleans and this album is a new approach to the life and musical experiences they have got in Louisiana over the years When you think of America southern blues and soul, you always imagine a raw, strong, substantial, rhythmic music, with elaborated arrangements and even powerful horn sections Nothing could be more untrue in the case of these two musicians, as Katy and Dave come to show southern music can also be performed in an intimate, melancholic and sensual way, thanks to the natural talent of both musicians who really know how to reach the heart of all listeners These two singers are backed by some good performers, who provide restrained elegant arrangements, perfect for all the songs that give shape to the album
