Although many years have gone passing by after her death, Katie Webster still is lovely remembered and admired by all blues fans Considered the one and only swamp blues queen, with no heiress till now, she began her career as a member and organist in Otis Redding’s band, but her love for piano and the influences of pianists like Pete Johnson, Alber Ammons, Meade Lux Lewis or swampy guitarists such as Lightnin’ Slim or guitar and harmonica player Slim Harpo, made up her mind to start a solo career Austrian label Wolf Records, which always offers great historic albums of the purest, genuine and real blues, now gets back an unforgettable Katie Webster’s recording singing and playing piano solo in Athens, Greece on November, 12th 1990 Among other beautiful pearls of her repertoire only mention I Want You To Love Me, Katie’s Boogie, Two Fisted Mama, I’m Bad and even the song Sittin’ On The Dock Of The Bay, one of the greatest Otis Reddin’s classics This is an excellent album to enjoy the attack, wildness and intense feeling Katie Webster always communicates
