The statement that says the city of Austin is nowadays one of the pillars and engines of XXIst century blues appears to be totally true if you have the opportunity to listen to Kathy Murray & The Kilowatts.

To discover this woman surrounded by her band is a real delight for the ears, both for blues lovers but also for occasional music listeners. Nominated in 2020 for the Grammy Awards for her songwriting, Kathy has become one of the most prominent names of Austin music scene as well as Texas estate, where the blues sound twenty-four hours a day. Not in vain she has shared stage with Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Fabulous Thunderbirds or W.C. Clark.

This time Kathy brings us a collection of eleven own compositions and three versions she develops with strength, intensity and passion, that move in styles like, among others, blues, country, swamp pop, southern soul or Zydeco, where Kathy comfortably walks along with very good taste and reliable efficiency. Perfectly backed by her partner Bill “Monster” Jones on guitar, accordion and vocals, Michael DeSantis on bass, drummers Richard Ross, Jason Corbiere and Nina Singh, Matt Farrell on piano and Lewis Stephens on Hammond B-3, Kathy Murray has also counted with the remarkable collaboration of the horn section The Texas Horns led by the legendary ‘Kaz’ Kazanoff in four songs.
