Night after night Kathy & The Kilowatts contribute to keep the reputation of Austin in Texas as the live music capital of the world The band was formed at the beginning of the 90’s although, since her teenager days, Kathy Murray used to go to clubs like legendary Antone’s to immerse herself and learn from white Texas blues stars like Jimmie Vaughan, Lou Ann Barton or Angela Strehli As years have gone passing by the group has got their own sound that, not only gathers Texas blues influences, but also styles like swamp pop, zydeco, soul or rockabilly This is their fourth album with ten original songs and three versions, where the band skilfully explores all the corners of blues and roots music that have made Austin so famous The group members are Kathy Murray on vocals, Bill Monster Jones on guitar, accordion and percussion, Nina Singh on drums and percussion and Jeff Botta on bass Apart from these musicians, you will also find in some songs the tasteful collaboration of other musicians like Dylan Cavaliere on double bass, Benny Turner (Freddie King’s younger brother) on bass, Floyd Domino and Matt Farrell on piano, Eric Johnson, on trumpet, Dan Torosian on sax and finally harmonica player Kim Field
