French music scene is lucky with the release of an album coming from singer and keyboard player Justine Blue, an artist who feels comfortable performing styles like jazz, soul and blues. Influenced by Koko Taylor, Etta James, Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan or Ella Fitzgerald, Justine began to sing on the streets, and soon she played in countless small clubs where she matured as a performer. Now you can see her not only in those small stages but also in big festivals and events.

After publishing an EP with six songs, Justine now presents her first album with thirteen songs, eleven of them own compositions, with lyrics that talk about self-confidence, the actual life, thoughts that limit us or personal strength. Musically speaking, the range of styles move from contemporary soul to groove, swing or rhythm & blues.

Justine’s voice may sometimes remember Joni Mitchell or Rickie Lee Jones, but always with a very personal touch that makes her different and original. She is also perfectly backed by a group of excellent musicians and a tasteful horn section in some songs too.

In short words, a calm relaxing album specially devoted to very heterogeneous and diverse audiences.
