Uruguay is a country without blues musical tradition. However this duo who come from there is a really interesting one. There is always good news to know blues is played in different countries because it shows blues has already become a cultural human race heritage and this cd is a good example of it. “Un Largo Camino” is the result of the efforts of two ‘mad’ blues lovers who have joined forces to devote themselves to play blues in their country. Mariño’s vocal an acoustic guitar perfectly combines with ‘Pato’s’ harp with an extreme taste, harmony, skill, feeling and veneration to what they are doing. Eleven Piedmont blues own compositions, sung in Spanish, plus some Cephas and Wiggins’ versions give as a result an interesting, original and curious cd.
