I will never get tired to say tbat in my opinion Greg Spencer’s independant label Blue Wave always surprises me with every new cd I receive from them All the cds Greg publishes are a pleasant surprise for my personal taste and my conception of blues, because Blue Wave catalog always fulfils all my expectations Although many of the musicians and bands included on the catalog build their music over contemporary blues with quite actual arrangements, all of them keep their roots on the pure blues tradition Jony James is not an exception and his personal style balances between pop/americana music and blues which is always present in all his compositions A very interesting cd, with a remarkable guitar work, tastefully and cleverly performed
