Born in 1948 in Hollywood, California, Jon Gindick became completely passionate with harmonica during the early 60’s Art and writing lover, he graduated from Berkeley in 1970 and, among his many and various hobbies, he devoted with special dedication to teach harmonica also writing different instruction books to learn how to play it In 1984 he wrote an instruction book entitled Country And Blues Harmonica For The Musically Hopeless, that sold more than a million copies Since 2001 he organizes a yearly harmonica camp, teaching all musical styles and genres that can be performed with this little instrument As a musician Jon has become a valuable and unique song writer and storyteller and, as harmonica player, he delights us in every record he publishes with his fine technical brushstrokes gifted with most tasteful blues flavor For this album Jon has counted with the collaboration of Franck Goldwasser on guitar, Ralph Carter on bass and Pete Gallagher on drums The recording gathers twelve good songs that cover a variety of blues styles with a special mention to I Was Born To Wail which becomes a tribute to Sonny Boy Williamson I, Sonny Terry, Big Walter, Little Walter, Jimmy Reed and Howlin’ Wolf
