Johnny Wheels & The Swamp Donkeys band is the dream come true of singer, harmonica player and composer Johnny Wheels “Kennicott”. His passion for music comes from the time that, as a really small child, he was at his father’s band rehearsals. Unfortunately, his father died when Johnny was only six years old, but the music seed was already inside him. Encouraged by his father’s colleagues and friends, he followed on learning and playing different instruments. Tragedy came back to him as, when he was twelve, he suffered a terrible accident, has two vertebrae broken and was paralyzed from the chest down. After months of endless therapies, his love for music gave him strength and determination enough to, in his twenties, start a career as a musician and composer, playing in various bands.

Finally, he has managed to set up his own group with two excellent instrumentalists Brandon Logan on guitar and vocals and Taylor Frazier on bass. Together they have recorded this album with nine own compositions where they develop with remarkable quality, passion and good taste the most traditional blues but also soul or rock blues, all of them with an impressive groove and an undeniable feeling.

Produced by Jimi Bott, who also performs drums, the recording includes other guests like LaRhonda Steele on backing vocals, Steve Kerin on piano and keyboards and a horn section led by Joe Mack-McCarty. An album that becomes a good example of Jonny’s potential, a musician who has overcome all difficulties to become a remarkable artist who, despite his youth, has already received a number of well-deserved awards and recognitions.
