Tenth child of nineteen brothers, Johnny Tucker learned most blues secrets listening to his father playing guitar everyday for his mother at his home porch, after a hard working day as sharecropper In 1964 he travelled to Los Angeles, California where he met blues singer and guitarist Phillip Walker It was there where he began his career as a singer, performing James Brown’s hits, until he became drummer in Phillip Walker’s band, playing and travelling all over the world for thirty four years After Walker passed away, Tucker began his solo career and now he has published his second album recorded in an analogue way with an original recording equipment specially made to do it as it was done during the 60’s The album faithfully brings us the sound and feeling of 60’s and 70’s blues, also thanks to the valuable collaboration of the musicians who back him, all them masters of the blues language and experts to perfectly develop what Tucker was looking for Bob Corritore, Kid Ramos, Big Jon Atkinson or Bob Welch are only four of the eight musicians involved in these recordings, which were recorded in one take, with all players locked in the studio, playing all together in the same room The album brings the wonderful charm and feeling of those old recordings where blues wrapped everything Take advantage now and get drunk with the most genuine and faithful blues of those times, because unfortunately they will not come back
