Singer, harmonica, accordion and guitar player Johnny Sansone, formerly known as “Jumpin'” Johnny, came to the music world when he was a child. His father was a jazz sax player in Dave Brubeck’s band and, only aged eight, Johnny already played sax. When he was 10, he started to practice guitar and harmonica and, at 12, he went to a Howlin’ Wolf’s show in Florida that deeply impressed him. That night he took the firm decision to devote his life to play blues and, when he was 13, he was already practicing with David “Honeyboy” Edwards. During the seventies, he received harmonica lessons by James Cotton and Junior Wells. Few years later, he was touring with Ronnie Earl, John Lee Hooker, Jimmy Rogers and Robert Lookwood Jr.

Only with these small biographical notes, one can guess the amazing quality and experience Johnny Sansone treasures, which becomes evident along this new recording with eleven own compositions. For the album he has counted with two deluxe musicians like Mike Morgan on guitar, who brings the most Texas style, and Johnny Burgin who, with his guitar playing drives us to the most classic Chicago blues sounds. Also mention the special collaboration of singer and guitar player Little Freddie King and harmonica player Jason Ricci, as well as the rest of the high-quality musicians who surround him.

A superb recording, full of intense blues sounds that will totally catch people willing to taste the most genuine and passionate blues. GREAT.
