Johnny is one of the most powerful crushing guitar players of Barcelona actual blues scene His ‘live’ shows are straight and forceful with an effective dynamic magic on stage showing a great technique and colourful fireworks Perez sings on a very convincing tasteful way, which immediately connects with the audience, spreading his ability to enjoy blues as much as he does on stage Life By The Drop is his first published album, so listeners will immediately realize he is deeply influenced by Stevie Ray Vaughan, he pays homage in songs like Empty Arms, Rude Mood or Honey Bee, but also by other musicians and songs, like Guitar Slim’s The Things That I Used To Do, Otis Rush’ All Your Love, Elmore James’ The Sky Is Crying, or the amazing version of Tin Pan Alley classic Thirteen good power-blues songs performed by Johnny Perez Trio with Miki Santamaria on bass, and Xavi Tomás on drums, plus some Barcelona blues scene good guest musicians I can tell you will surely enjoy it
