Johnny Mastro & Mama’s Boys has developed his career in New Orleans Originally the band was founded in the famous blues club Babe’s & Ricky’s Inn and it was from club owner Laura ‘Mama’ Gross they took the group name, as she was the one who encouraged them to create the band and develop their dirty rough style she loved so much Today they have got recognition and prestige which has led them to play in more than one hundred festivals, perform in a good number of tours all over Europe and publish ten albums up to date For this last piece of work Johnny and the band recorded twenty-seven songs in seventy-eight takes, which were materialized in the recording studio during the short time of two days Then they chose eleven tracks to complete the album, which undoubtedly capture the essence and spirit of their music, a mixture of spotless convincing traditional and progressive blues, without forgetting a tribute to New Orleans voodoo sounds Johnny Mastro harmonica and voice, Smoke guitar, Dean Zucchero bass and Rob Lee drums and percussion have given shape to an honest, effective and solid album
