Johnny King is an outstanding producer, songwriter, singer and performer who feels comfortable in a variety of styles like blues, roots music, rock, reggae, bluegrass, country, Motown, gospel, funk, Latin, ragtime, New Orleans jazz or the most psychedelic southern rock. With such a remarkable background, it is not surprising all his records have a faultless production that always please wide audiences who look for good music.

Johnny began playing drums in his father’s band, Rod Hot Lincoln, in Virginia, but soon he became a multi-instrumentalist who now manages to play guitar, slide, bass, keyboards, mandolin and trumpet. In 1997 Johnny began his solo career leading his own bands, besides becoming a high demanded producer, which has led him to work with countless musicians who usually play in his band Johnny King & Friends, which presents a good number of different performers.

For this recording Johnny has recruited about two dozen of great professionals like Tony Coleman, Bobby Rush, George Porter Jr or the horn sections of JJ Grey & Mofro, Steel Pterodactyl & The Dirty Dozen Brass Band or The Roanoke Gospel Choir among others. The result is twelve impressive songs that become a festival of blues, soul and roots music, with a magnificent orchestration and outstanding arrangements, where the chemistry, quality and professionalism of all musicians involved is beyond any doubt.
