John Putman is a singer, guitarist and song writer in constant and permanent evolution He is gradually moving ever closer to becoming an outstanding figure in the most actual design blues scene, both in USA where he was born, but also at an international level John is a brilliant musician with a great stylistic adaptability, a true chameleon of the roots music and a real genius The impressive show he does in The Way I See It is really amazing In every song Putnam perfectly controls the sound and harmonies, his music is full of a natural gift and a kind of melancholy that show his love for modern jazz, as becomes evident in the instrumental song The Night was Sultry, a good example of his amazing technique and reliability as guitar player Putman is backed by a bunch of magnificent very professional musicians like bass players Paul Socolow, Paul Ossola, Lincoln Schliefer and Leo Traversa, drummers Rich Mercurio, Shawn Pelton and Andres Patrick Forero, keyboard players Bette Sussman and Tomek Mierowski and finally percussionist Denny McDermott This is an album to enjoy slowly, with no hurry
